BIO

Eddy Raven began his career in the music industry at the LaLouisianne label, selling records and working in the facilities sound studios. It was there Raven got the chance to meet and work with many regional stars, including Bobby Charles who cut one of Eddy's songs and became a writing mentor to the young writer/artist. After signing with Acuff Rose in Nashville, Raven was determined to write a hit song. He fulfilled the goal and wrote "Country Green" and "Touch The Morning" for Don Gibson along with "Good Morning Country Rain" for Jeannie C. Riley.

Raven moved to Nashville shortly after where he continued to write songs for other artists. What followed was a string of charted songs which didn’t bring him stardom, but made him an interesting prospect to fans and labels alike. Five years later he signed with Elektra Records and cut the breakthrough song “I Should’ve Called.” Raven followed with “Who Do You Know In California,” which established him as a stylist in his own category.

In 1983, he signed with RCA. He wrote and co-produced his first number one song, "I've Got Mexico;” a first in a long line of hits for Raven.

Pursuing music as his first love, Eddy has been writing and playing a mixture of rock, country, Cajun and blues since he was a teenager in Louisiana. He has cultivated his musical style around rich lyrical imagery and strong roots. Raven's attention to quality has consistently paid off, allowing him to top the charts with music that has often defied classification and was never run-of-the-mill. Eddy Raven is an artist who, without sacrificing any musical integrity, has had 8 No. 1 songs, and his songs that did not reach No. 1 have gone on to become country classics.

Raven still writes and does song writer shows with his long time friend and guitar player Frank Myers.
